Introduction

The physicians at Respiratory Medicine department prevent, detect beforehand, diagnose and treat pulmonary diseases in adults, adolescents as well as children.The Department provides extensive outdoor and indoor services to both emergency and chronic cases providing tertiary and referral care facilities, besides attending to OPD patients. The pulmonary medicine programs comprise treatment of specific diseases such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asthma, sleep-disordered breathing, cystic fibrosis, interstitial lung diseases, smoking cessation program, occupational lung disease, pulmonary rehabilitation, lung cancers and tuberculosis.

Curriculum

Undergraduate students are provided concept base in the field of tuberculosis through clinical posting and teaching program demonstration. The students are given clinical postings for duration of 15 days.

Free diagnostic and treatment facility to all the patients attending OPD for tuberculosis
TB & Chest wards having 22 beds for inpatient treatment
NCR Institue providing DOTS and Retrieving Defaulters

The department is involved in continuous research works and has various research articles published in many indexed national and international journals.
